Alternative Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing residential and vocational supports to children and adults with developmental disabilities.

             

Unpaid employment activities are structured around each person’s interests revealed in the initial stages of the person-centered planning process. This specialized program is created for individuals, who prefer, or need, leisure activities instead of paid employment.

This uniquely structured program may include:

• Swimming at community centers
• Eating out at restaurants
• Going out for coffee
• Visiting the local humane society
• Arts and crafts projects
• Concerts in the park
• Building social and life skills
